Living in London

Life in London is as exciting as it can become stressful. Dealing with traffic and loads of people everywhere every day can become tiring, but the true Londoner is not the one who enjoys the worst parts of the town, the true Londoner is the one who can see past that and not let that enjoy his or her overall view of the city. Many people visit London for their holidays but clearly state they would not like to live there. Well, some real estate agents London would probably have something to say about that.

Housing in London is as varied as its population. That means that you can find houses and flats for all tastes and purses. Successive construction projects have been undertaken throughout the years, meaning that there are always modern houses being built, or that have just been built. Likewise, it also means that, for the more traditionalists, older habitation is always available as well. Flats in London have a reputation for being smaller than in other parts of the country, smaller in overall space but not on the price tag. This is something that is in for a change as well. Ten years ago people still had the mentality that an apartment is something that you rent and once you settle down, get married and start a family you’ll move to a house in the suburbs. Nowadays, the modern couple doesn’t plan on having that many children, so having a comfortable and spacious apartment has become something that a lot of people are willing to invest in. This has caused a trickledown effect, meaning that while these more modern and more luxurious houses are being built in larger numbers and, therefore, sold at a cheaper price, all the houses and apartments bellow that category have also seen their prices re-evaluated, often to the benefit of you, the consumer.
