Most real estate transactions deal with these three types which include residential, commercial and vacant land properties. The mechanics of each transaction are similar but for those who might want to consider a career in real estate, focusing in one area could be a better decision. Different types of real estate properties may present different opportunities, selecting a career in real estate might depend on your current location or prior business experience.
Residential Properties
Residential areas are spaces where housing units are predominant or exclusively located. The types of homes may vary but one important remains and that is the area or property is developed for the purpose of building residences. These includes the construction of single detached family units or multiple family housing which includes, condominiums, townhomes, apartments and the like.
These areas may be included in zoning plans or locations where the land development is exclusive to the development of homes. Areas within the zone maybe allocated for commercial development but only for the purpose of providing services to the community located in the area.
Commercial Properties
Commercial properties are locations which may have been previously empty land areas developed for the sole purpose of business or those areas where existing businesses such as buildings are located. This includes office spaces, banks, supermarkets and malls where income is generated thru services provided.
These spaces are geared toward the buying and selling of goods and services to the general population. Also referred to business areas, these properties are important in generating jobs and driving the economy.
Vacant Lands
These are undeveloped lands whose purpose is yet to be determined. Depending on different factors and in large part on the lands location, these areas could either be developed into residential or commercial properties. One of the major factors which determines its future purpose is the projected income which could be generated from its use.
