Shopping at Ikea is a memorable experience. Whether looking for dishes, a sofa, plants or even food, it’s possible to find just about anything in this Swedish store!
When you go, make sure you have time to spare because you will want to be able to meander through the full room set-ups in addition to making your way through the sometimes labyrinthine warehouse. And you may want to make a stop in the Cafe’ for a salmon salad or a plate of meatballs, not to mention a cup of good, strong Swedish coffee.
Ikea is not known for exceptionally high quality products, especially where furniture is concerned (you will find lots of composite wood & wood laminate, for example), but for someone just starting out, it’s a great way to go. Also, it’s common to find some great solid wood pieces mixed in with the not-so-solid, so don’t walk too quickly through any of the departments.
There are also Ikea discount codes available on everything from dishes, napkins & candles to lamps, picture frames & window coverings.
Once you have all your treasures purchased & before heading out the door, take time to stop in the “Sweden Shop” where you will find various packaged food items ranging from “Princess Cake” to caviar in a tube to lingonberry drink.
